Among all the tourist spots in Sydney, Scenic World is one of the favourite tourist attractions of this beautiful city.
Scenic World is one of the most popular tourist attraction located at the southern end of the town of Katoomba in Australia. Scenic World is located near 100 kilometers west of Sydney. The favorite attractions at the Scenic World are Scenic Skyway, Scenic Railway, Scenic Cableway, Scenic Walkway, Scenic Cinema. Other interesting aspects about Scenic World include a theater, shop and revolving restaurant etc.
There are many things to do at the Scenic World. The Railway in the Scenic World is reputedly the steepest cable-driven funicular railway in the world. This cable railway is inclined at 52 degrees and stretched over a distance of 415 meters. Originally, it was constructed for a coal and oil mining operation in the Megalong Valley in the time of 1880s. But in the future it was reconstructed and has become a popular tourist attraction in the recent times.
Scenic Skyway at Scenic World is another cable-driven conveyance at Scenic World. It travels across the gorge above the Katoomba Falls which is located 200 meters above the valley floor. The new version of Scenic Skyway features an 84 person cabin that includes sections of electrostatic glass that turns the floor from opaque to transparent as the ride ventures out across the gorge. In the year 2006, a new station on the opposite cliff-face was introduced, allowing Skyway passengers to disembark and follow bushwalking trails to nearby Echo Point.
